Charity looks to bridge the technology, employment gaps in Cape Breton
A new program hoping to fill the pandemic-exacerbated unemployment gap is moving further east.
NPower Canada’s employment program provides free digital and professional skills training to participants. After a successful launch in Halifax, the program is expanding to Cape Breton.
“I’m a new immigrant here and I did not find (many) opportunities,” said Raj Chokka, an NPower Canada alumni from Halifax.
Chokka was in the program’s first graduating class. It generally caters to those between the ages of 17 and 30, but has also opened up a limited number of spots to those above 30.
