Hunter – Junior IT Analyst – Nova Scotia – January 2022 Graduate
Hunter never felt confident in himself or his future. He didn’t think he would amount to anything and didn’t try as a result. He shared, “I never truly applied myself because I doubted my abilities, and a lot of the time, I didn’t even bother trying to go out of my comfort zone.”
He was working at his local grocery store when his mom told him about NPower Canada. It was at this moment that Hunter realized he wanted to make more out of his life and wanted to try something new that could help advance his career. “I can confidently say that it was a life changing decision,” Hunter shared.
Hunter applied himself throughout our Junior IT Analyst program, which was a stark contrast to his habits in high school. He was an active participant and submitted assignments on time. He had never really thought about his career options before, not believing he had many, but was now beginning to explore what a career in tech could look like.
As Hunter continued to grow both personally and professionally throughout the program, he was noticed by staff and selected as a graduate speaker for our January 2022 Nova Scotia graduation. At graduation he shared:
“NPower Canada has not only helped me develop as a person, but also gave me the skills to greatly improve my employability. The staff is always there for you and wants to see you succeed. I am proud to have been a part of this program, and it has given me what I need to start a career and strive for the things that are important to me.”
With help from NPower Canada, Hunter was able to get his life and career in the right direction. He landed a role with CIBC shortly after graduating. We are so proud of Hunter and his growth and can’t wait to see him progress in his career.
