Natacha & Roméo – Quebec – Junior Data Analysts – 2025 Graduates
Before joining NPower Canada, Natacha and Roméo were experienced statisticians building established careers in Cameroon. Natacha, trained in statistics and applied economics, worked in monitoring and evaluation within public health organizations across Central Africa. Roméo served as a Data Analyst at Cameroon’s Ministry of Economy beginning in 2016. Both had strong analytical foundations and years of professional experience.
In January 2025, they received their visas and prepared to relocate to Montreal in pursuit of better opportunities for their family. Just weeks before departure, they discovered they were expecting a baby, a joyful surprise that added both excitement and responsibility to an already significant transition.
Upon arriving in Quebec, they quickly began applying for data roles. Although the field was in demand, they realized there was a gap between their academic background and the technical expectations of the Canadian job market. Job postings consistently required proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, and cloud-based tools; skills they needed to strengthen to remain competitive.
Determined to adapt, they applied to NPower Canada’s Junior Data Analyst program and began the August 5, 2025 cohort. The intensive, fully virtual program required strong commitment and discipline. For Natacha and Roméo, the 100% virtual format made a meaningful difference. As parents, with children in school and daycare and a baby on the way, they were able to structure their days around family responsibilities while fully engaging in their training.
Since they were enrolled in the same program, they supported one another throughout the journey. They shared study time, reviewed projects together, clarified technical concepts, and balanced childcare responsibilities as a team. What could have been an overwhelming period instead became a collaborative one. Through NPower Canada, they strengthened their technical foundation in Python, SQL, artificial intelligence applications, and modern data practices. Skills that once felt like gaps became tools of confidence.
Beyond technical skills, the program prepared them for the realities of the Canadian job market. They learned how to tailor their resumes to Canadian standards, optimize applications for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), refine their LinkedIn profiles, and confidently position themselves within the tech sector. The impact was immediate. Increased professional visibility, stronger personal branding, and recruiter engagement marked a turning point in their integration journey.
Both Natacha and Roméo are continuing to invest in their education. Natacha is pursuing a full-time Master’s in Public Administration at ENAP, specializing in Program Evaluation, while Roméo is enrolled full-time in a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Business Intelligence at HEC Montréal. Their commitment to further studies demonstrates their ongoing dedication to building expertise and advancing their careers in Canada.
For them, NPower Canada was more than a training program; it was a foundation for their family’s future. By equipping both parents with in-demand skills and professional confidence, the program strengthened not only their careers but also their household’s long-term stability.
Their journey highlights how NPower Canada opens doors not just for individuals, but for whole families, equipping newcomers to build lasting and sustainable futures together.
