Pallavi – Junior IT Analyst – British Columbia – January 2022 Graduate
Pallavi came to Canada recently with the hopes of kick-starting her career. She scoured job boards and mass applied to open positions, but was having no luck. Pallavi was struggling to adapt to the new culture with little knowledge about the Canadian work environment and no work experience in tech. There were many roles available within tech, but none that Pallavi had the qualifications or experience for.
When she saw an advertisement for NPower Canada on Google, Pallavi felt like she had found the answer to help her overcome the obstacles she was facing to employment. She was excited to gain the industry certification in IT to add to her resume, and although she found the technical knowledge challenging, with the support from NPower Canada staff and peers, Pallavi grew confident she could complete the program.
While Pallavi had enrolled in our Junior IT Analyst program because of the technical training, she found the personal and professional development sessions to be very valuable. The “all encompassing approach ensures that upon completion of the program, I have equipped myself with lifelong skills to find and land a job, and continue to grow my career.”
Pallavi is part of our first British Columbia cohort, and graduated last week. She was selected as one of the graduate speakers and when reflecting on her experience with NPower Canada, she said,
“I feel that NPower Canada’s JITA program let me grow my confidence to join the workforce with my newly acquired IT knowledge and training. While I was previously hesitant, I am now employment ready.”
She sure is – Pallavi secured employment with Vancity Credit Union. We’re so proud of her and can’t wait to stay in touch and see what she does next.
