“I was stuck in a rut and didn’t know what to do – then, the Junior IT Analyst program caught my attention and I’m so happy I made the decision to apply. My life would not be where it is right now without the help and support of NPower Canada.”
After obtaining her high school diploma, Stevie wasn’t sure how to move forward. Although she had started working, she was laid off unexpectedly and was finding it difficult to put herself out there again. Stevie was struggling with mental health challenges and needed somewhere to turn to.
When Stevie found out about NPower Canada, she applied right away. She wasn’t sure what to expect, but knew the program would equip her with in-demand tech skills. Stevie quickly learned that she would gain much more than that.
“They rebuilt my confidence in ways I didn’t even know I needed. The new knowledge and skills I gained will be applied to my everyday life, not just for my work life. When things get hard, you have to just keep going no matter what. Stay determined and really keep your eye on the prize,” she said.
After graduating from our Junior IT Analyst program, Stevie was placed directly into employment, securing an internship with Debian Information Technology. She enrolled in our Google Project Management Alumni program to continue to learn and grow. Stevie continues to battle with mental health struggles, but has said that the continuous support and feedback she received from NPower Canada staff helped her to progress through the program.
As for what advice Stevie would give others considering NPower Canada programs? It’s simple – “DO IT!”
