Vidhya S. – Ontario – Junior Security and Quality Assurance – September 2021 Graduate
Moving to a new country is incredibly overwhelming – especially if you are searching for employment at the same time. When Vidhya came to Canada, she felt lost. “I didn’t know where or how to start my career in Canada,” she said. The stress was starting to take its toll on Vidhya, affecting her mental and physical health.
Vidhya had some network security knowledge from her post-secondary education in India and was referred to our intermediate Junior Security and Quality Assurance program. Looking for support during a stressful time in her life, Vidhya applied to the program. Once enrolled, she refreshed her tech knowledge and acquired new skills relating to cyber and network security.
“NPower Canada gives great assistance in clearing all job hunting hurdles and also provides the skills needed in today’s market,” Vidhya said. “I wanted to get into the IT security field, and I’ve completed the first step to start my career journey.”
Vidhya currently works as a National Channel Support Representative for one of Canada’s top employers, Bell Mobility. Longterm, she hopes to be able to grow within the company and progress her career.
When asked what she would say to those considering NPower Canada’s programs, Vidhya advised others to “be accountable and take responsibility. Follow and make use of all that NPower Canada offers you.”
