Become a Successful Junior Data Analyst
The Junior Data Analyst Program is a tuition-free and intermediate program*. This course equips participants with marketable skills for tech-enabled jobs. The JDA program is for job-seekers who take pleasure in solving problems, uncovering patterns and insights from data, and possess a strong enthusiasm for employing data-driven approaches in decision-making.

This highly competitive program requires previous knowledge in IT, and/or computer programming, and related professional experience. Please see the Program Eligibility details below to ensure you are qualified. If you do not possess the required education and professional experience your application will be considered for our JITA (Junior IT Analyst) program. Our Admissions staff will make final decisions regarding eligibility.
In addition to the AI-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certificate, participants may also undertake the IBM Data Analyst Professional certification as part of the Junior Data Analyst Program.
This 15-week program is tailored for residents of Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Ontario* in English and in French (to Québec, Nova Scotia and Bilingual Ottawa region residents).

- Excel, SQL fundamentals for Data Science, Data interpretation, and Data Visualization.

- Microsoft Azure AI Insights, Exploring AI Workloads, Machine Learning Principles, And Azure Features Like Computer Vision And NLP.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

- At least 18 years old
- Must hold a high school diploma or GED
- Must already possess basic computer skills and be comfortable working with a computer: typing, email, internet navigation.
- Mandatory Intermediate to Advanced English Level (minimum CLB level 7 examination score) for non-native English Speakers. Applicants may be required to take an English evaluation exam.
- Must be eligible to work full-time in Canada and maintain legal status (Citizen, Permanent Resident, Open Work Permit) with a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
- Must have a household income below $100,000 and an individual income below $40,000.
- Must be facing unemployment, underemployment, or financial barriers to employment or post-secondary education.
- Cannot hold the IBM Data Analyst Certification, or the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) Certification, or any equivalent or more advanced certifications.
- Must possess practical experience or professional knowledge in R or Python Statistical Programming, and experience working with Microsoft Excel programming.
- Demonstrated interest in or working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Understand machine learning either from taking courses or from practical experience.
*In Alberta and Ontario, due to overwhelming demand for our programs, we have many more applicants than available seats. To ensure fairness, we use a computerized lottery system to randomly allocate available program seats to qualified applicants. Applicants not admitted by the lottery system will be welcome to reapply in 24 months. This lottery system also supports a research study that NPower Canada is conducting to measure the long-term effectiveness of our programs. Eligible Ontario and Alberta applicants are required to enroll in our research project as part of our admissions process, however, after admissions results are shared, applicants can withdraw from the research.
