Google Project Management Program

The Google Project Management Program provides NPower Canada alumni with continued upskilling for job placement, retention and career laddering in the information technology field. Completing this program qualifies alumni for over 100 hours of project management education, which can be put towards the Project Management Institute Certifications like the globally-recognized Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® in the future.

Courses in this program include:

  • Foundations of Project Management
  • Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project
  • Project Planning: Putting it all Together
  • Project Execution: Running the Project
  • Agile Project Management
  • Capstone: Applying Project Management in the Real World

Learning outcomes include:

  • Gaining an immersive understanding of the practices and skills needed to succeed in an entry-level project management role.
  • Learning how to create effective project documentation and artifacts throughout the various phases of a project.
  • Practicing strategic communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management through real-world scenarios.
  • Learning the foundations of Agile project management, with a focus on implementing Scrum events, building Scrum artifacts, and understanding Scrum roles.

Graduates will secure roles such as:

  • Project Administrator
  • Operations Manager
  • Operations Associate
  • Scrum Master

  • Project Analyst

Delivery Method:

Blended learning model, primarily delivered online, supplemented by virtual or in-person labs, study groups and career coaching.

Timeline:

  • Our Fall cohort start dates will be announced in Summer 2021.
  • Class times for the Fall cohort will be announced during the Admissions process. Participants will be asked to be available for two 2 hour classes per week.
  • A weekly commitment of 15 hours

Eligibility:

The Google Project Management Professional Program is considered a beginner program - you must be an NPower Canada graduate.

Who you are:

  • Graduate of any NPower Canada program.
  • Have not previously graduated from an NPower Canada Alumni Education Program.
  • A Greater Toronto Area, Halifax or Calgary area resident.
  • Have a strong motivation to work and learn.
  • More information coming soon about future cohorts.

Admissions Process:

  1. Applications for Fall 2021 have now ended and will reopen in Summer 2021.
  2. Eligible applicants will be considered for Boot Camp, which is composed of three parts:
    • Bridging course: This preparatory course will give you foundational knowledge for Project Management, and can be completed on your own entirely on Coursera.
    • Successful completion of Orientation.
    • Successful completion of Week #1 of class.
  3. Once all admissions steps have been completed, a final admission decision will be communicated. Please note that the Admissions process for Alumni programs is separate and different from our youth programs.
