Joseph W.- Québec – Junior IT Analyst – 2023 Graduate
In Cameroon, Joseph had been working as a Data Analyst. When he came to Canada, he wanted to continue his career in tech, but needed to refresh his knowledge and upskill with the most in-demand tech skills. To make ends meet, Joseph worked as a Fruit Clerk at a grocery store, but was eager to restart his tech career in his new home.
Joseph enrolled in NPower Canada’s program and quickly became known as a star performer. Joseph found great value both in the technical skills he was learning and the professional development sessions.
“I acquired and developed new skills in IT, time management, stress management, communication at work, customer service, etc. Additionally, the professional development sessions have significantly improved my skills in the job search process, such as CV and cover letter writing and interview preparation,” shared Joseph.
After graduating from the program, Joseph landed multiple interviews and obtained his first tech role in Canada as a Tech Support Specialist for Isaac Instruments.
“NPower Canada opened the door to tech and towards a first employment in the field. I think with a few professional experiences in tech, combined with additional certifications I can gain, I will definitely be able to achieve my dream job in the next ten years,” said Joseph.
