Graduate Success Story – Sulaiman K.

Sulaiman K. – British Columbia – Junior IT Analyst – 2024

Meet Sulaiman, a Junior IT Analyst program graduate and speaker representing British Columbia at our July 10th 2024 national graduation ceremony.

Sulaiman’s journey was one of great determination and dedication towards improving his quality of life and career path. Hailing from Uganda, Sulaiman made the decision to move to Canada in early 2024 with the goal of changing his life. He said he learned about NPower Canada “with a simple visit to the public library, where I discovered an opportunity to gain IT knowledge.

During his time with NPower Canada, Sulaiman overcame many obstacles and celebrated his successes as they came. He recalled one of his favorite parts of the program, professional development:“The inclusion of professional development was unexpected but incredibly beneficial. It taught me crucial skills such as preparing for job interviews, navigating job markets, mastering time management, handling stress, and fostering effective teamwork through scrum groups, among others.”

Aside from sharpening his career skills, Sulaiman also valued the sense of community he found within his Scrum groups. “The diversity sparked my curiosity about their cultures and ways of life…My Scrum group became like family to me. I eagerly looked forward to our morning meetings, cherishing the mutual support that defined our interactions,” said Sulaiman.

NPower Canada equipped Sulaiman with a newfound confidence. He reflected, “Learning to conduct independent research using tools like YouTube, ChatGPT, and Google not only encouraged creativity, but also honed our problem-solving abilities.”

Sulaiman credited NPower Canada for their support and will continue to be a lifelong learner beyond his time in the Junior IT Analyst program.

When asked to offer a piece of valuable advice to those considering NPower Canada’s tech programs, Sulaiman was eager to share:

“Go for it! I cannot overstate the value of this program. It equips individuals with indispensable skills that are essential in today’s competitive job market.”

Congratulations, Sulaiman! NPower Canada cannot wait to see your continued journey to growth and excellence.
