Yash C. – Alberta – Junior Data Analyst – December 2021 Graduation
Yash hit the ground running when he arrived in Canada, looking to gain work experience in his new country. He had a Masters degree from back home and had some educational background in SQL and coding languages, but hadn’t yet been able to put that knowledge into practice.
Yash realized he needed to gain some Canadian experience before he would be able to land a job, so when Immigrant Services Calgary referred him to NPower Canada, Yash jumped at the opportunity.
While in our Junior Data Analyst program, Yash brushed up on his technical skills and gained new ones. Being new to Canada, he also found a lot of value in some of the professional development aspects of the program, such as conducting mock interviews and polishing his resume. He also enjoyed the daily scrum meetings, which helped him gain experience working with different people.
“Enrolling in the NPower Canada program turned out to be a game changer for me as I not only developed new technical skills, I also completed key Microsoft and IBM Certifications that strengthened my profile. The professional development area of the program helped me in polishing my resume and cover letter and played a key role in helping me get interview calls and landing my first role in Canada,” Yash said.
After graduating from the Junior Data Analyst program, Yash secured an internship with CI Financial. A year later, he landed a full-time position with OnActuate, as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant Trainee.
Here’s what Yash would say to people considering an NPower Canada program:
“My advice would be to not think twice about it. The program really prepares you for a stronger career ahead, not only through intensive technical training, but also builds your soft skills through professional and personal development sessions.”
