New free program offers tech training, job-matching for Kamloops youth
A charitable organization is helping underserved and marginalized youth in Kamloops between the ages of 17 and 30 get digital and information technology (IT) jobs.
NPower Canada will provide youth who have barriers to employment with a free 15-week digital and professional skills training program, supplied by Microsoft and Google.
“At the end of the 15 weeks, they’re ready to enroll in an entry level position either as a Junior IT analyst or a data analyst. What we do after the 15 weeks is we help place them in a position when they’re done with the program,” said Rune M., Regional Director for BC at NPower Canada.
