Junior IT Analyst Program

Delivered in partnership with Google, our instructor-led program equips participants with marketable skills for tech-enabled jobs. Graduates of this program will receive the Google IT Support Professional Certificate. You don’t need any prior knowledge in IT to apply for this program, but basic computer skills (Internet, email) are mandatory. You’ll learn in-demand skills that will have you job-ready in only three months. The Junior IT Analyst Program is for you if you enjoy solving problems, learning new tools and helping others.

Thanks to Google's generous support, NPower Canada is excited to deliver a large range of Google Career Certificate programs at no cost. Current offerings include Google IT Support Certificate and Google Project Management Certificate. Over the next year, we will offer an additional Google Career Certificate in Data Analytics. Yearly salaries for entry-level positions offered post-program average between provincial minimum wage to $40,000.

What you'll learn:

  • How to provide end-to-end customer support ranging from identifying problems to troubleshooting and debugging.

Program details:

  • This program is offered five times per year.
  • This program is offered in English in all 6 available provinces, and in French to Québec residents.
  • The program duration is three months, from Monday to Friday. Daily sessions run for a minimum of four hours.

Manitoba – Winnipeg, Selkirk, Brandon and Northern Manitoba. Ontario – Cambridge, Greater Toronto Area, Kingston, Kitchener, Hamilton, London, Waterloo, Windsor, Gananoque, and Ottawa. Québec – Montréal, Laval, North Shore, South Shore, Montérégie, Gatineau, Sherbrooke and Québec City.

Eligibility requirements:

  • You are at least 18 years old, or will be 18 years at the time of the program start date.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED or any recognized high school equivalence from a recognized Canadian or international educational institution.
  • Possess basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse use, typing, email, and internet navigation.
  • Your overall annual household income is less than $100,000, and your annual individual income is less than $40,000.
  • You have legal status in Canada allowing you to work full time for any employer. This includes Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Work Permit holders and you must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN). Study Permit holders, International Students, and individuals awaiting their first Post Graduate Work Permits are not eligible for the program.
  • If an Open Work Permit holder, it must be valid for at least one year after the program start date and be eligible to work full-time in Canada. 
  • Facing unemployment, under-employment, or financial challenges and barriers to employment.
  • You are a job seeker in Canada aiming to secure full-time employment in Tech and Digital roles immediately after completing the 3-month program.
  • Demonstrate advanced English or French* language skills. For non-native English Speakers, a CLB examination may be required with a score of a level 7 or above for all sections including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. (*French programs are only currently available to Quebec residents.)
  • Not currently enrolled full-time in post-secondary education, or confirmed enrollment in a future semester of full-time post-secondary education. You also must not currently be studying IT or Tech in post-secondary, either part-time or full-time.
  • Cannot hold the Google IT Support Certification, CompTIA A+ Part 1  or 2, or any equivalent or more advanced certifications as deemed by NPower Canada.
  • Have not previously completed an NPower Canada Core Program.
*In Alberta and Ontario, due to overwhelming demand for our programs, we have many more applicants than available seats. To ensure fairness, we use a computerized lottery system to randomly allocate available program seats to qualified applicants. This lottery system also supports a research study that NPower Canada is conducting to measure the long-term effectiveness of our programs.
