Eddy N. – Ontario – Service Analyst Stream- 2018 Graduate
When Eddy came to Canada, he found it incredibly difficult to get a job in the IT Industry. He did not have a certification to lend him credibility, and without Canadian experience, employers would not email him back. Eddy applied to jobs daily, but no amount of effort seemed to make a difference.
Eddy was referred to NPower Canada from his employment centre, and saw it as an opportunity to get his foot in the door of the tech industry. He applied immediately. During the program, Eddy worked hard, had a positive attitude, and helped his peers out whenever he could.
After graduating from the program, Eddy landed an internship with one of NPower Canada’s long-standing employer partners, Rogers, as a Bilingual Service Desk Technician. He was so glad to have his first tech role in Canada. Since then, Eddy has moved on to Black & MacDonald Limited, where he works as a Bilingual Service Desk Analyst.
“NPower Canada made a remarkable impact on my life in such a positive way. I went from hustling to apply to jobs, to actually having companies reaching out to me every single week to offer me a job,” Eddy shared.
Looking to the future, Eddy hopes to open his own company and start providing networking services. He is thankful that NPower Canada for providing him with the skills he needed to break into the IT industry.
