Graduate Success Story – Renzo

Renzo – Nova Scotia – Junior Data Analyst – 2025 Graduate

After immigrating to Canada, Renzo found himself working part-time in a seasonal role at H&R Block while pursuing his goal of building a career in data analytics. Like many newcomers, he quickly ran into a familiar wall: the Canadian experience requirement. Without a local track record, even getting past initial screenings felt like an uphill battle, let alone securing interviews.

Rather than accepting that barrier as permanent, Renzo went looking for a way through it. NPower Canada’s Junior Data Analyst program stood out immediately; not just as a training opportunity, but as a genuine gateway into the Canadian tech and data landscape. It offered the technical curriculum, industry connections, and professional support he needed to stop feeling stuck and start moving forward.

From the very first weeks of the program, he was struck by how practical and collaborative the learning environment was. Working through real-world datasets that mirrored the actual challenges of the industry, guided by engaged instructors and surrounded by a motivated cohort, made even the most intensive material feel purposeful.

When he graduated, Renzo walked away with solid technical skills and a much clearer understanding of how to succeed professionally in Canada. More than that, it rebuilt something harder to measure: his confidence. For a newcomer who had been repeatedly filtered out before getting a real shot, proving to himself that, he could compete and succeed, changed everything.

That confidence translated quickly into results. Through NPower Canada’s direct recruitment support and industry connections, Renzo was matched with RBC and secured his first professional role as a Banking Advisor Intern; a pivotal moment that bridged the gap between his training and a career in the financial sector. Today, he is still with RBC, continuing to grow within the organization.

In his current role, Renzo supports clients with their financial needs while deepening his understanding of banking operations from the inside. Alongside his client-facing responsibilities, he continues to apply the analytical skills he built through NPower Canada to better understand client needs and contribute meaningfully to his team.

Things have changed considerably for Renzo since graduating. From part-time seasonal work with an uncertain future, to a stable position with a fixed salary, a supportive employer, and a clear professional trajectory, Renzo now has the foundation he always knew he was working toward.

Renzo’s message to anyone considering the program is clear: just apply. NPower Canada offers more than training; it offers a real way into the Canadian job market. Be ready to put in the work, stay curious, and take full advantage of the connections the program opens. For Renzo, that’s exactly what made the difference.
